Solar Storm

Under a volatile sun…

Solemn will keep her memories, but everyone she remembers is gone – a massive solar storm has downed global power grids and taken the entire world offline.

At seventeen, Solemn finds herself alone – her parents, her boyfriend, Ash, and billions of others on Earth have all lost their memories to the geomagnetic disruptions of the storm.

And now, the mysterious voice she’d always thought of as her conscience has gone silent.

She knew that one day she would leave home, but she never thought it would be like this, alone, living in lockdown under Tower rule. As Solemn searches for her own voice, will she ever find a freedom that is truly free, or did the solar storm destroy everything?

About the Author

Sacha Webborn is a novelist and children’s picture book author who calls many places her home across the British Isles and the United States. She especially enjoys science fiction and loves exploring relationships steeped in the drama of wildlife and the natural world. As a songwriter and singer, Sacha brings to life the musical themes woven throughout her books with live musical performance accompanied by her husband, composer and musician, Thomas Webborn.

I uncover Ash’s eyes and watch the angles of his face soften as he looks up toward the sky. If there are stars, we can’t see them. Everywhere above our heads, hanging in the darkness, are massive rivers of coloured light streaming across the night – fields of aurora borealis winding for miles.
